James C. Lieber, Jr., Shareholder

Jace was born in Breckenridge, Minnesota, on October 10, 1944. He attended the United States Naval Academy and La Salle College where he earned his Bachelor of Arts in political science in 1967.

Following college, Jace joined the United States Marine Corps, serving as a Huey gunship pilot in the Vietnam War and ultimately retiring in 1998 as a Colonel after 30 years of service in the reserve. In August 1972 he entered the University of Missouri at Kansas City where, after two and one-half years, he earned his Juris Doctor in December 1974, and later his LL.M. in taxation in 1977. He was admitted to the Missouri bar in May 1975, the U.S. Tax Court in 1976 and the U.S. Supreme Court in 1978.

He is a member of the Platte County and Missouri Bar Associations. Jace is chiefly a business lawyer who focuses his practice in the areas of corporate, partnership and real estate law.

In his spare time, when not occupied with a good novel or Marine Corps reserve interests, Jace likes to hunt and fish in Alaska, safari in Africa and dabble at gourmet cooking. He is married to the former Susan Parker of Kansas City, Missouri, a registered nurse. They have four children: Kim, Amy, Jacie, and John.
