Michael A. Nigro, Shareholder
Since 1992, when he took over management of his family's commercial real estate ventures, Mike has immersed himself in navigating the ins and outs of the business landscape from both a legal and entrepreneurial perspective. Mike's dual role as both a lawyer and an independent business owner enables him to comprehensively advise and advocate on behalf of his clients, which range from multi-million dollar corporations, family businesses, franchise holdings, and emerging entrepreneurships.
Primary areas of practice for Mike include business, corporate, and partnership law, as well as transactional, construction, governmental, compliance, and real estate law. From complicated corporate transactions and real estate revitalization projects through HUD financings as Borrower's counsel, to the formation of corporate entities, or serving as a general business advisor, Mike likens his role to that of in-house general counsel for small to medium businesses that require consistent legal advice, but do not have the option of staffing full-time counsel.
As someone who is equally comfortable handling million dollar transactions or offering day-to-day legal guidance to small business start-ups, Mike's relaxed and personable nature contrasts nicely with his high-energy and results-driven focus. His clients continually remark on the individualized attention they receive, along with noting his affable sense of humor, which makes what could otherwise be stressful situations not only bearable, but truly enjoyable.
A lifelong resident of Kansas City, Mike was born on October 5, 1972. He has alumni ties to Rockhurst High School, as well as the University of Kansas, where he earned a B.A. in Economics in 1996, and The University of Missouri-Kansas City, where he was on the Law Review and earned his J.D. in 1999. Mike spends the majority of his free time with his two sons, Sam age 4, and Bennie, age 2.
